Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing

Animated paid social ads testing messaging angles for potential authors interested in self publishing. Illustrations were done with Amazon’s style guide in mind and animations looped seamlessly on Facebook.

The first message focused on earning potential. In addition to the message testing we also tested call to actions on the end card as well as call to action within Facebook’s UI.

The second message focused on having more control over the publishing process. As you can see both ads start with the blinking cursor, something we thought authors would know very well, and then their animations play off either messaging concept.

As you can see both ads start with the blinking cursor, something we thought authors would know very well, and then their animations play off either messaging concept. This helped us keep slightly more control over the testing. In the end, the earning potential performed more favorably.

An earlier concept that did not make the final cut featured a collection of classic authors all discussing (via group chat) how nice it would have been having Kindle Direct Publishing. What could have been.
